"WHAT IF's" and PLAN "B's

To succeed in business you must always look at every angle. Having a plan is good but you must constantly keep looking at it and asking yourself " what if" and have a plan "B" ready.

In the case of dispatching drivers that are criss crossing around the country you must constantly look at miles, weather, other moves on the load and communicate with all reps then re access on a daily basis.
You need to ask yourself what would happen in different circumstances , and what you need to do to prevent any issues. And if it looks as though there is any questions you best have a plan B.

You should never allow to be fully surprised or to be dealing with a problem in the midnight hour. That is when you will set yourself up for failure.

Do your homework- prepare- and you will be better off for it.

The more work and thought you are able to put into the front end the more you will set yourself and others for success.

Think of everything, ask questions and what ever you do - DO NOT ASSUME.

One of pet peeves is when something goes wrong and I ask questions and in return I get " I just assumed that he or she would do something".
When you lose control of the situation- YOU FAILED- not them - YOU.

After you make your plan that is where the real work starts and that is what separates the good and the best. Always look at it from each angle and confirm with all the parties involved and PREPARE- BE READY.

ASK YOUR SELF- "WHAT IF" and HAVE A PLAN "B" READY !
