Prioritize your Time

Prioritize time with each employee and yourself.

You need to take the time to meet with each team member. You'll have to put in the effort. I suggest that you block out time in your schedule for this activity. Ideally, this would be when you’ve already planned to take a break. But, if that isn’t possible, do your interview with your employee during an energy drop or when you have a blank spot in your schedule. You can schedule a lunch with each of your team members or schedule more one-on-ones. You can also do my favorite, the walk and talk. Just walk around the workplace for a quick meeting.
All of the above are simple ways to strike up conversations with your team so that you can get to know them better and check-in with them.
Knowing more about each person will help you determine better what motivates them, where they could use help, and when they’re most productive. Most importantly, it shows that you genuinely care about them.

Lottery

Where you are born and the skin you are born in is kinda like a lottery.
None of us have anything to do with where we are born in the world or to what parents , many people view life from their vantage point , from where they are in the world and rightly so because that IS our world but in the bigger picture you are a speck in the world and a nano second in world history.
When people say in America or anywhere in the world for that matter, we need to take care of US first - what US are they referring to ? -
I assume they are referring to the window on the world.
How can we or will WE ever get to a place where people can understand that US is ALL of US - the world - the human race - where you are born and the skin you are born in should not determine your life but indeed it does.
When a child dies from starvation or is slaughtered and dies anywhere in the world we all should want to help - they are children, babies.
When , Americans, put up walls or put on blinders and only see the world from our little window we tend to put on this false bully vest and put on a face of hatred. When people get scared they get defensive or want to feel comfort by joking a group because they see strength in numbers.
Kill em all
It is THIER problem - not ours
They are “bad people “
They hate US
All chants to get you mad or scared.
We are ALL God’s children and where you are born in the world dies not matter.
A family and children , no matter where you are, all want the same thing , families  want to protect each other , love, hug, laugh.
With war comes death and the death of babies, children, innocent life’s.

Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me.”
Matthew 25:45

Leadership

  • Leadership that walks the walk —
  • A company needs to be unified by a common set of values, beliefs and goals that support productivity and innovation, with management that lives by those values. Look for signs that the leadership adheres to its own corporate ideals. Do managers trust employees to make decisions? Are people — including supervisors — held accountable for following through on tasks?

Gratification

Do you want it all now or are you prepared to wait? Some people have a focus on present pleasures whilst others are happy to wait for the good bits.

Instant gratification

Those who seek instant gratification have a present focus. They are less able to control impulses and are more susceptible to temptation and possibly addiction. Given a dinner, they are more likely to eat the things the like best first rather than leave them until later.
To change the mind of someone who seeks instant gratification put temptation in their path. Have what they want now to hand and offer it in exchange for future commitment.

Delayed gratification

Those who are prepared to delay gratification will put off reward to a future date, enjoying the anticipated reward in the mean time. In this way they maximize their pleasure, combining the anticipation with the pleasure of the event itself (although exaggerated anticipation can lead to disappointment).
To change the minds of someone who delays gratification, show not only the future benefits but also talk about how great it will be looking forward to the event itself.

So what?

Understand how people delay (or not) taking of pleasures, then customize the way you persuade them using rewards now or promised in the future.
If they seek instant gratification and you want future change then offer them something now to gain commitment. If they delay gratification and you want them to do something now, show them how acting now will benefit them even more in the future.

Put down your phone

Some challenges young people have when trying to assert themselves in the workplace.
- One obstacle includes fighting the stereotypes associated with their generation.
Millennials often get a bad rap for being a group of distracted, young people. And there’s some truth to that, at least when it comes to our Cellphone owners between the ages of 18 and 24 exchange an average of 109.5 text messages each day, according to Pew Research Center. That’s more than 3,200 texts a month! Millennials also spend on average about 5.7 hours a day on their phones. Not only does that kill productivity, it distracts from your message and takes away time from communicating face-to-face with your bosses and co-workers, which is critical when you’re just starting out in the workforce.
We’ve found that it’s especially important for young people in their first, second or third job to establish a precedent where they appear focused. What does that mean?
You’ve got to slow down, take in your surroundings and put down the phone.
