Team of Rivals

The movie " Lincoln" is out and it does a great job of bringing us all back to 1864 and 1865.

The movie is based on the book- A team of Rivals.
In in the book talks about how Lincoln surrounded himself with his rivals and with people that had different opinions from him. He listened  and learned .

That is what we need to remember today. In our politics and life and in our business.
It is most important to surround ourselves with not only people that we agree with but we need to pull in and RESPECT those that we do not.

That is when we learn and grow.

In the movie as in real life Lincoln went to the battlefield and not only met with his generals but he also spoke to his troops and most important he listened to them.

He was great man who was right for his times and thank GOD he was the man he was.

He was man born of poverty and was mostly self taught in his younger years. He read a lot and followed his heart as much as his head.

Be a leader, make a difference.
Lead from within- not from the mountain top.
