A page from Belichick

Take a page from Coach Bill Belichick, head coach of the New England Patriots.

He always has his team prepared and well trained. Rather you like the Patriots or not you have to admire how Coach Belichick always has his teams motivated and prepared for every situation.

That is what separates his team from the rest. At the end of the day they have trained and they are disciplined. That does not just happen, that starts on day one and starts at the top.

He always has a Plan B ready. You notice that when they huddle up the quarterback, Brady, is normally calling two plays in the huddle. He prepares his team so that if this happens on the next play they will automatically know what the next play is. That is why they are able to do what they call a hurry up offense. By doing that they force the other team to hurry up and they normally catch them unprepared.

For the life of me I do not know why other teams do not take a page out of Coach Belichick's playbook. It works and it has proven to be successful.

In order to call these plays and run the hurry up the team must all be prepared and reading off the same playbook. The same goes for us in business. Preparation will always give you a better shot at success. You have to look at each day and what you have ahead of you and think of every situation that may arise...and be ready.

You need to learn from those that are successful and mimic what it is that they do that makes them successful. Take a page from Coach Belichick and have more than one play ready in the huddle.
