Tough

Being Tough does mean yelling louder.

If you think that a being a tough leader means that people fear you or that you simply do not care who you run over you are sadly mistaken.

Don’t get me wrong that attitude can sometimes get the attention of the boss and may even be the type of “hit man” that some people at the top want but it if the farthest thing from leadership and in the long run it WILL fail.

I have seen in plenty of times in my business life, people who bully there way to the top and I watched as they berated people and had zero loyalty and I also watched them come and go.
They slither in and they slither out leaving a wake of people that they walked over and hurt , the sad part was that most times it took years for it to catch to them and all they ever accomplished was negative and hate and a loss profit sheet.

Being a real leader means always respecting others and listening, making educated decisions and helping to create a process that succeeds and fosters creativity and involvement by all.

To to that a leader/ boss/ owner needs to stay involved and promote people around them that they trust and hold the same philosophy that they do.
They have to trust that when they leave the room their leaders are talking to everyone the same way that they talk to them.

Being tough is standing up for others NOT knocking them down.
