Two years ago I was at the Arpin convention in Florida and we had vendors there with booths set up as we always do. There was a gentleman there with a computerized inventory product.
I sat with him for a bit and I thought he had a good product. I then asked our driver of the year at the time, Steve Martin to sit with him and to see if he liked the product.
We both agreed that sooner or later our industry would need to move to computerized inventories and Steve said he would be willing to give a shot and test it out.
I then asked Brian Fergurson to sit with this same company to see what he thought about it. Brain is President and owner of IGC Software and he was already at the convention to help Arpin with other computer programs that would enhance what we do.
After the sit down Brian told me that it was good product but that he had partnered with another company, Windfall and that he thought that they could develop a better inventory product then what we have been testing.
Months later, Joe, President and owner of Windfall came to R.I. with Brian and was very excited. Joe asked if he developed a computerized inventory system that could be downloaded on any smart phone if we thought it would help. I think Joe already knew that answer.
It would not just help it would revolutionize our industry.
Now we were talking about a device that many people already own and with this device we could marry it up to everything else that can be accesses through phone, email, pictures, videos etc.
Then Brian and Joe said that if we could tie this in with the other programs that we were already currently working on we would have one complete system that could talk and exchange information like no other system in the household industry....ARPIN PRIME SOURCE.
Well that was two years ago and today it is here.
From concept to reality...pretty cool
