Do not talk about a person...talk to the person.
It is hard at time to confront somebody when you have something negative to talk about or have constructive criticism but you are best to nip it in the bud. Most times you may even find out that it was not what you heard or what you suspected.
It may be hard but it also gains you a positive reputation, a tough but fair reputation.
If you speak negatively about others to people those same people that you are confiding in will wonder if you are speaking about them that way to others.
By confronting the person and speaking honestly you will begin a constructive dialogue and even if they do not like what you are saying they will respect that you said out loud and to them.
Always gather the facts and approach the person letting them know that you are not judging them and that you know that there are always two sides to every story. Let them know that all you want to do is to be honest and to try to help.
If you do not hit the problem head on it will only fester and manifest itself in another manner. You may get short tempered with that person and start reading into things that are not even there.
Take a breath and take a minute to air it out....don't talk negatively about a person behind their backs. It can only come back to hurt you and your reputation.
