One of the things that made the Forest Gump character so special was his child like ways he viewed the world and people. His naivety and innocence.
He never judged people and always saw the good and through all of that he was able to befriend those that might of been hard to understand or may of had a different point of view or a hard exterior.
It may of been that Forest was born with a "so called" handicap.
I often wonder who truly has the handicap. I do know people with autism, or a form of, and they all have a special gift.
I do not know why the good Lord gives special abilities to those diagnosed with autism, or a form of, but it seems that they do view the world differently. He grants them the ability to tap into a certain part of their brain that somehow we can not or loss along the way.
One if the abilities that Forest had was the ability to love unconditionally. His love of his life was Jenny and even though Jenny had to find things out on her own and work through her own inhibitions and past he never stopped loving her. He never judged and he always welcomed her with open arms.
We can learn a lot from people with "so called" disabilities. Most families with a family member that has one will all tell you that they constantly learn from them. They force you to live in the moment and they are normally unimpressed with material things.
For those of you have seen the movie- how many of you would have forgiven Jenny or the Lieutenant?

I do know HANDICAPPED....AND yes,we do find ways around our disabilities. In our industry,it's not hard, just more young legs...But you do have to respect their short comings, and their ability to get around them.
