More on step 2- GOALS

Goals are simply the means you use to reach your dreams.
You start out with short-term goals that are easily attainable to get into the habit of improvement; then you make the goals more demanding as you begin to have success.

Be able to admit your weaknesses and establish short-term goals to overcome them. Don't make your goals unrealistic; keep raising the bar to make sure that you are pushing yourself. You can always do more then you think you can do. Don't be content with small successes. Use those small successes to generate larger successes. The key is to keep creating demanding goals for yourself, goals that will allow you to reach your full potential.

Hard work is not always fun, but it's the price you must pay to be more successful.

Keep your eyes on your dream and constantly tell yourself that your hard work and effort is one day going to be worth it, that there's going to be a big payoff at the end. This is essential because there are going to be times when you question what you are doing, when you ask yourself, "What's this for?".

When that question arises, envision yourself enjoying the reward at the end.
This will make your journey worth it.

SELF-ESTEEM

Self-esteem comes with a catch...
We must deserve it.

Only when you have your plan of attack, you become organized, have discipline in your life, you're prepared to win- that's when you should start to give yourself some credit.
Only when you have proven that you deserve victory.
It's counterproductive to boost some one's self-esteem when that person doesn't deserve it.
Only when we know we deserve it can we start to feel better about ourselves and arrive at genuine self-esteem. At that point our self esteem has been earned and significant value.

Self-esteem is vital to achieving.
Self-esteem is directly linked to deserving success. If you have established a good work ethic and have begun the discipline that is inherent with that, you will automatically begin to feel better about yourself.

It is all interrelated.

You must deserve victory to feel good about yourself.

You do have control of your life.

Your success or failure is up to you.

10 STEPS FOR SUCCESS- STEP 1 -

1) -  BUILD SELF - ESTEEM

OUR SELF-ESTEEM IS THE VALUE WE PUT ON OURSELVES.
It is the person we see when we look in the mirror.

Conversely, people with low self-esteem are often unfocused and easily frustrated. They tend to be underachievers,  complete with the package that is so characteristic of those kind of people: lack of discipline, poor organizational skills, and inability to finish things, a sense of discontent, sensitive to criticism, envy of others- an entire laundry list of negatives. It is difficult to work with people with low self-esteem, because they tend to be emotionally fragile and conditioned for failure.

Individuals with great self esteem will do great things. They are the ones you want in your work place.

Greatness can never be achieved unless we feel good about ourselves.

Take a good look in the mirror, establish a solid work ethic and sound strategy in order to believe that you deserve success.

It's never to late to change.

Age is no criterion when it comes to changing your life. In fact, it might be just the opposite.
The older we get, the more we must change. Change is what keeps us fresh and innovative. Change is what keeps us from getting stale and stuck in a rut. Change is what keeps us young.
This is especially true in today's business climate, where companies are streamlining and downsizing. You simply can not use age as an excuse.

Worring about the other guy

Helping each other and watching out for your brother and sister is ultimately what we are here for.
Some of us get that and some take longer in life to realize it and others just will never understand it.

At first we are battling to just get ours, to find our spot and create our own security.
But sooner or later you come to the conclusion that you can not succeed alone.
You may think so but you can not sustain success unless you fully understand that you need others and that you need those around you to succeed also.

The biggest Cancer that I see in our industry and in most businesses is everybody is worrying about the other guy but not the good kind of worry the kind that is wondering why they are getting things that they are not. Or worrying that their success will hamper their own therefore they spend most of their time worrying rather then being productive.

Why did he get promoted or why did they get offered a job, do not worry about what you do not get but spend time on what you do get and what you do get offered.

Worry about the other guy...but for the right reasons !

We are all in this together. We come into this world alone and we will leave it alone. Let's enjoy our time together in between. Trust me...that is where you will ultimately succeed.

10 STEPS TO SUCCESS - STEP 2-

2 )- SET DEMANDING GOALS

GOALS VS DREAMS
What's the difference?
Dreams are where we want to end up. Goals are how we get there.
Dreams are our vision of where we are after our struggle, the prize at the end of the journey.
Goals are the individual steps we take to ultimately deserve the prize.

HOW TO SELECT YOUR GOALS
Goals essentially come in two categories.
There are goals that we set to focus behavior we want to change, and goals that are established by working backward from where we want to end up in our dreams.

Most people when presented with the fact that is going to take hard work to be successful, will begin working harder. That's not the problem. The most difficult part is getting them to understand their weaknesses so that they can frame their goals around fixing them.
Many people are unable to admit their weaknesses. They try to cover them and deceive both them selves and others. These people are easy to identify, they are the excuse makers, the procrastinators. They're always putting off things until tomorrow. Postponing action is only postponing achievement.

Set goals that will help you overcome your weaknesses.

From concept to reality

Two years ago I was at the Arpin convention in Florida and we had vendors there with booths set up as we always do. There was a gentleman there with a computerized inventory product.
I sat with him for a bit and I thought he had a good product. I then asked our driver of the year at the time, Steve Martin to sit with him and to see if he liked the product.
We both agreed that sooner or later our industry would need to move to computerized inventories and Steve said he would be willing to give a shot and test it out.
I then asked Brian Fergurson to sit with this same company to see what he thought about it. Brain is President and owner of IGC Software and he was already at the convention to help Arpin with other computer programs that would enhance what we do.
After the sit down Brian told me that it was good product but that he had partnered with another company, Windfall and that he thought that they could develop a better inventory product then what we have been testing.

Months later, Joe, President and owner of Windfall came to R.I. with Brian and was very excited. Joe asked if he developed a computerized inventory system that could be downloaded on any smart phone if we thought it would help. I think Joe already knew that answer.

It would not just help it would revolutionize our industry.

Now we were talking about a device that many people already own and with this device we could marry it up to everything else that can be accesses through phone, email, pictures, videos etc.

Then Brian and Joe said that if we could tie this in with the other programs that we were already currently working on we would have one complete system that could talk and exchange information like no other system in the household industry....ARPIN PRIME SOURCE.

Well that was two years ago and today it is here.

From concept to reality...pretty cool

Once they get used to the IPAD,they will wonder,HOW,they did without it.

I just spent 20 minutes on Facetime watching and talking to my grandkids...Come on,tv,newspapers and movies?...Ask me about them.

Go to ARPIN UNIVERSITY and click on ASK SKIP.....and he will answer your questions and concerns pertaining to our computer inventory system.

Skip was one of our beta testers and has been using it for months now and before that he used the TechMate.
