Want to understand the situation? ..listen..
Listen and ask questions, if you think you have reached a point in life where you know everything then don’t worry , just carry on in your bubble.
We never stop learning and most of the time our lessons may come from unexpected places or people.
Observe.
Take the time to observe those around you and take a good look around, you may see or hear something that has been right in front you all along but you never even looked up.
In the work place we learn more from the real workers not the ones holding the titles, do you want to know how to improve? Ask them.
I have been in many a board meeting where the VP’s are making pivotal decisions and they have no clue as to what really goes into the work, rather clerical or the actual labor they never worked their way up the ladder so they do not know. Not working your way up is one thing but they then do not even take the time to observe or ask..amazing. Then they past judgement or worse just decide at the wave of a pen to lay someone off not even knowing what the hell they really do.
Here’s the thing..they are doomed to fail..but the collateral damage would have been done.
As the gap widens from the top and the real workers and people are placed in leadership positions that do not earn them this will continue,unfortunately.
If you are in a position of power, please take the time to observe and ask and empower your fellow employees- you will better off for it.
